ACL Tears

ACL Tears

One of the most frequently encountered knee injuries, especially among athletes, is the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. It can happen in various scenarios, with some of the most common being rapid changes in direction (like cutting or pivoting), landing from a jump, or a direct impact to the knee. Some individuals may even hear a distinct popping sound during the injury. Common symptoms include pain and a feeling of knee instability. While partial tears can often be managed without surgery, complete tears, particularly in young and active patients, typically necessitate surgical reconstruction for optimal recovery and long-term joint stability.
